WSP is currently initiating a search for a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Honolulu, Hawaii office for Summer 2021. This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards an Mechanical Engineeringdegreewithin an accredited program. The candidate will gain experience with design projects under direct supervision of the firm's leading professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic calculations
  • Prepare materials for presentations, client meetings and project progress reports
  • Gather information on clients, and prospective clients projects
  • Assist in analyzing data
  • Assist in requests for information, drafting correspondence for shop drawing reviews for construction services
  • Provide assistance in engineering or/and other technical area
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current standing as a Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, and producing technical drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Local candidates preferred. Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
