Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Product Definition: Assist Marketing in defining new products through feasibility studies and technical competitive analyses
  • Product Architecture: create models (Simplis, Cadence) to simulate designs, control techniques, prove out new architectures
  • Product Support: Work with Design, Product, Test and Manufacturing Engineers to help answer customer questions, support product introduction, road-tests
  • Product Documentation: Document all relevant product and design information to educate others on novel design techniques and provide guidance on product usage
  • Technology Development: work with Technologists to define the technology roadmap, addressing the performance and functional requirements of the product roadmap

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 12 to 15 years of experience in power management circuits and system level design depending on level of education and experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in semiconductor industry
  • Simplis (or equivalent) modelling experience
  • Solid understanding of analog circuit theory and power management circuits
  • Capable in creating product definition
  • Strong system level analytical skills
  • Experience debugging, probing, and characterizing silicon using standard lab equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Participated in at least 5 power management chip products on the market today
  • Collaborated on at least 7 analog IC chip designs
  • Thorough system level understanding including Buck and Boost converters, charge-pumps, multi-level converts, multi-phase operation
  • Experience in inventions and patent (co-)authorship
  • Possess excellent project management skills
  • Creative and innovative on the architectural level

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's or PhD preferred
