Position Purpose
Post-Baccalaureate position under new pilot program to support ongoing research in Economics Department.
Description
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Experience working with Stata, SQL, Python, and Microsoft Office including Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant experience coding with statistical software packages.

Key Accountabilities

Description
Data preparation
* Write statistical package code to read in and clean (sometimes raw or unstructured) datasets.
* Assemble, organize, and clean datasets in preparation for analysis.
* Implement file management practices to ensure version control and replicability.
* Undertake analyses to ensure consistency and quality during data construction.

Description
Econometric analysis
* Perform various regression and statistical analysis using statistical software packages.
* Identify, develop, implement, troubleshoot, correct and recommend solutions to problems associated with experimental design, methods, procedures, and techniques to meet the unique requirements of assigned research problems.
* Build computational programs and algorithms corresponding to economic models.

Description
Background research and literature reviews
* Review existing literature related to current research projects.
* Perform background research on potential data sources, policy changes, econometric methods, or other relevant context for early-stage research projects.
* Assist with preparation of grant proposals.

Creating publication outputs
* Prepare appropriate representations of data and empirical results such as graphs and tables.
* Assist with preparation of manuscripts for submission.
* Assist with preparation of replication packages for research projects.

Coordination
* Assist with management of research team, including mentorship and coordination with undergraduate research assistants.
* Maintain a calendar of key research goals and deadlines; track and report on project progress.

Pedagogy Assistance
* Hold office hours to assist econometrics students with data analysis project.
* Assist with preparation of data analysis related course materials.
