Summary of Position | Do good work with veterans...develop best practices...Have fun! Northeast Passage is seeking a highly skilled CTRS to join our community-based recreational therapy team in supporting the health and well-being of veterans in NH. Our individualized and strengths-based model of care meets recommendations for effective veteran healthcare solutions which: use a cognitive and experiential approach, address barriers, decrease stigma, increase personal confidence in coping, and support a sense of meaning and purpose through engagement in the community and in recreation. This model of community-based RT is at the forefront of healthcare trends that address social determinants of health. We use evidence-based practices to address both the contextual and personal factors that influence health behavior. We are actively engaged in creating change in healthcare policy and practice in NH (and nationally) through advocacy and research. We rely on the collective work of our team to build this evidence base, evaluate best practices, and forward advocacy efforts. We are seeking Someone who is: self-directed, able to apply a broad based of knowledge in health management and disability, can facilitate with sound clinical judgement in a community-based setting, has a strong sense of clarity in professional role, and a commitment to Veteran health and advancing the field of RT.
