Position Summary:
The Range Safety Officer (RSO) for the SIG SAUER Experience Center (SEC) is responsible for the safety of all SEC public shooting range customers. The RSO is responsible for the organization, conduct and supervision of all range activities. The RSO is also responsible for range check in, firearm rental, and league night operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Work within a team of highly skilled range safety officers responsible for ensuring the safe operations of the public range.
*Provide range orientation and safety briefings to new customers.
*Ensure that the range facility is maintained and serviceable at all times. Assist with preventative maintenance in coordination with the SEC facilities staff.
*Monitor all activity within range and gun rental counter area.
*Assist customers with proper operating of target system while ensuring safety of customers and staff.
*Works closely with logistics manager to ensure all firearms are in working order and serviced as required. Keeps sufficient firearms and ammunition stocked and available as required to support range operation.
*Operate gun rental counter point of sale and assist with inventory management as required.
*Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times when dealing with customers and staff.
*Have a familiarity with USPSA or IDPA competitions or be willing to become certified to officiate and participate in weekly leagues.

Required Skills/Abilities:
*Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in firearms training, and range safety officer responsibilities.
*Superior diplomacy and excellent customer service.
*Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
*Experience with a retail point of sale desired but not required.
*Excellent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Education and/or Experience:
*Experience as a range safety officer required.
*Ability to complete a series of SIG SAUER Academy basic to advanced level rifle and pistol classes required.
*First responder medical training highly desired.

Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
*Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods required.
*Ability to physically participate in multiple eight (8) hour days of basic and advanced firearm training as part of pre-opening training required.
