This position is based in our Portsmouth, NH office.

The Inside & E-Commerce Sales Rep. is responsible for supporting the administration of Sprague's Proprietary E-Commerce Platform and to conduct sales outreach and support within Sprague's current portfolio customers.

Major Duties / Responsibilities:

Inside Sales

  • Sell petroleum products to established wholesale accounts
  • Maintain regular communications with a specified portfolio of customers including cold calling and soliciting competitive information
  • Build customer relationships while generating incremental sales
  • Review and monitor customer information such as sales data, contractual commitments, credit and insurance status, customer service and pricing issues and resolutions
  • Collaborate with other departments to insure integration with sales
  • Provide direct support for outside sales representatives and their accounts

Support Administration of the E-Commerce Platform:

  • Develop and deliver price quotations for Sprague customers in support of a variety of contract sales, including contract terms negotiations and managing the execution of associated hedges.
  • Independently monitor and adjust pricing differentials within Sprague's real-time Internet based E-commerce contract sales program based on changes in intra-day market conditions and analysis of the competitive market environment.
  • Electronically execute Globex transactions and balance the hedged position throughout the day
  • Execute/transmit confirmations for contracts
  • Daily monitor of customer contract performance to assure contract obligations are fulfilled within terms.
  • Manage Sprague's portfolio of contracts across a variety of back-office systems and all applicable interfaces
  • Foster relationships with all applicable departments to identify and implement ways to improve management, daily process requirements, and expansion of the Program
  • Manage contract/pricing disputes and coordinating resolutions as needed
  • Other duties as required

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2-4 years office experience in an energy industry environment.
  • Proficient computer skills is a must, Excel skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and develop new skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment and relate to customers/outside contacts and fellow employees.
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Strong team player willing to constantly interact with teammates in a trade floor setting
