Position Purpose:

The Senior Commodity Analyst - Packaging would assist the Packaging Commodity Manager in sourcing, negotiation, risk management, category strategy development and execution, supplier relationship and performance management. Packaging categories include Corrugate, Displays, Block Bottom Bags, Folding Cartons, Flexible Film, and other secondary Items. The person in this position is also responsible for financial budgeting information such as standard costs and appropriate inventory levels to support production requirements. This position requires a high degree of ethics and professionalism to ensure control of Lindt assets and expenditures.

This is a hybrid role that requires three days per week in our Stratham, NH corporate office.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Packaging Category Management

  • Support Commodity Manager in development and implementation of North American Packaging initiatives and goals in support of Lindt Group business objectives. Collaborate with North American business units as part of the broader North American procurement strategy.
  • Support Commodity Manger to develop multi-year negotiation strategies for packaging category. Track savings initiatives assuring that savings are transferred to financial budgets.
  • Assist in preparing for senior leadership strategic reviews, market condition information, and trend updates related to packaging commodities and suppliers.

Technical, Financial, Planning, and Project Management

  • Develop in-depth category expertise and understand market / industry trends to identify optimal value creation and material availability opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate risk associated with packaging categories.
  • Develop and implement bid processes including RFP's, RFI's, and RFQ's for packaging category.
  • Participate in monthly PPV meetings and communicate variances and material business changes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing / New Product & Packaging Development teams to develop profitable new initiatives by ensuring the cost of goods sold are value oriented and quick to market.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and internal Lindt Group departments to optimize the company's competitive position in the marketplace.
  • Track supplier performance and industry standard to alleviate risk, communicate key learning's and developments to management team.
  • Support Commodity Manager to conduct business review meetings with strategic suppliers, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership team leveraging performance scorecards.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of Procurement experience required.
  • Direct material buying experience preferred.
  • MRP/ERP systems to monitor inventory levels, maintain material control, conduct procure-to-pay activities.
  • Food manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT Systems such as SAP (S4, IBP, and Coupa), DEVEX, etc. a plus.

  • Financial, quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced busy environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • APICS / Procurement related certifications preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Travel: less than 10%.
