Job Summary

The Packaging Operator III will be responsible for assembling, operating and monitoring state of the art, inspection and packaging machines in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices. This position requires extensive amounts of leadership, decision making and coordination with coworkers as subject matter expert. This position reports to the Supervisor and has no direct reports. However, this position does require the ability to effectively lead 3-8 co-workers to achieve goals. Must be knowledgeable of and able to operate advanced computerized systems through HMI.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate and monitor all packaging lines with advanced HMI applications including robotics systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot inspection and packaging machines including robotics systems as a subject matter expert.
  • Set-up, operate, make machine adjustments when necessary, and troubleshoot state of the art inspection and packaging machines to meet process parameters.
  • Maintains equipment, change parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Maintains sample set for automated inspection machines.
  • Setup and operation of serialization equipment and process as subject matter expert.
  • Trouble shooting serialization / aggregation issues.
  • Maintains "Zero Defect" focus for all controllable packaging related quality measures, including AQL's, Line Clearances, documentation and re-inspections.
  • Responsible for planning and maintaining peak operating efficiency including: scheduling breaks, maintenance activities, change-overs, check in/out. Understands line schedule and production targets. Contributes to weekly planning as needed.
  • Maintains quality and quantity at all times.
  • Performs routine Packaging Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders, and coordinates machine changeovers.
  • Technical comprehension of mechanical functions and controls for inspection and packaging equipment.
  • Documents accurate paperwork, including batch records, log books and downtime entries and checks the documentation of others.
  • Assures strict adherence to SOP's and cGMP's
  • Communicates with packaging supervision and maintenance and QA to address machine and equipment issues
  • Accurately accounts for incoming components and usage.
  • Completes SAP/Inventory paperwork
  • Concise communication with co-workers and managers to promote teamwork atmosphere.
  • The ability to multi-task and prepare for next operational step.
  • Understand the process flow and step by step requirements for manufacturing.
  • Coordinates segregations and re-inspections
  • Qualified Trainer for Inspection and Packaging department
  • Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
  • Can assist as back up group leader
