Job Description
Lead Test Technician responsible for the execution of tests for an innovative medical device using high precision digital balances and various other test equipment. This is a leadership role coordinating the use of test equipment by test technicians and ensuring results achieve the expected goals of the program. This person is responsible for ensuring the lab maintains a professional appearance and operates efficiently, and that staffing levels align with the execution timelines of the program. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing test activity in a professional engineering environment.

How you will make an impact:
  • Manages the accurate execution of tests per written procedures and/or product specification.
  • Ensure tester technicians have adequate training to execute tests.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and professional testing laboratory environment.
  • Monitors and controls the daily activities in the testing laboratory.
  • Manages the tracking of inventory, supplies, and equipment needed to perform testing required.
  • Order testing supplies and equipment as required.
  • Manages test team to ensure testing is completed in a timely fashion and identifies resources required around shifting deadlines.
  • Manages safe handling of hazardous pharmaceuticals and prescription items by all team members.
  • Effectively communicates with engineering team in order ensure issues are being documented, tracked, and reported.
  • Actively engages with satellite departments to ensure status is understood and tasks are on track.
Skills you will need to be successful in this role:
  • Must have education and/or training in a technical field (Bachelors degree, Associates degree, Vocational Education, etc.).
  • Must have at least 1 year experience as a test technician in design QA or manufacturing
  • Must have 1 year experience leading or mentoring a small team
  • QA environment (prior experience testing medical products a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Committed to organization, cleanliness, and professional lab appearance.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite and general computer literacy.
  • Create an atmosphere of cooperation and trust where individuals feel safe to take creative risks, deal honestly with failures and thereby quickly toward ultimate success.
