Position Purpose
To provide all aspects of direct patron service at the Baker-Berry public service desks and provide support for other areas of Access and Delivery Services and the library.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to organize work efficiently; set and modify work priorities; while under pressure and despite interruptions.
* Ability to work collegially in a team environment.
* Customer service experience with a diverse clientele.
Preferred Qualifications
* Two to three years relevant library experience.

Key Accountabilities

Description
Staff public service desks at Baker-Berry Library, performing various patron related duties. Responds to a variety of in-person, telephone, and email information requests and refers questions to librarians as appropriate. May serve as a staff member responsible for Baker-Berry Library on assigned weekends, evenings, intersessions, and holidays. Monitors building security and contacts Safety and Security should problems arise.

Description
Provides support for other areas of Access Services and the library, including work on assigned projects.
Percentage Of Time 40%
Description
Participates on Dartmouth College Library committees and task forces representing circulation and reserve services. Actively engages in ongoing professional development.
