Position Purpose
To provide curricular and administrative support for planning, implementation, and management of the On Doctoring course curriculum, professional values formation initiatives, and experiential learning activities aimed at enhancing communication and interpersonal skills and clinical competency among Geisel School of Medicine's MD students. Contribute to academic operations that deliver a personal, connected, and transformative learning experience for students.

  • Work experience in course coordination, learning support, or education program delivery
  • Knowledge of FERPA and how it relates to student confidentiality and record keeping.

Key Accountabilities

Description
Development, Technology, and Implementation
  • Collaborates directly with faculty and other members of the instructional team to initiate, prepare, review, and monitor course/activity preparation and implementation. Responds to questions from teaching faculty and students and ensures all medical equipment is in working order.
  • Works with faculty in building and maintaining course in the Canvas Learning Management System and is accountable for accurately monitoring the timing and delivery of the content, such as session pages, quizzes, sections and groups, and monitoring gradebook and assignments.
  • Manages the building of course in OASIS, accountable for accuracy of curriculum inventory, creating and maintaining student small groups, and accounting of faculty teaching sessions.
  • Facilitates delivery of sessions by creating and managing Zoom including polls and breakout rooms and transferring files to classroom computer desktops using Splashtop.
  • Ensures recordings from learning sessions and activities are accurately captured in Panopto and uploaded to Canvas and/or shared with appropriate parties.
  • Oversees the creation of room reservations using EMS, monitoring, and resolving conflicts.
  • Collaborates with faculty to develop, implement, and disseminate Qualtrics-based surveys related to learning activities.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and administratively supports course activities and meetings, such as large group sessions, student feedback meetings, skills development sessions, simulation activities, and new initiatives aligned with the On Doctoring course.
  • Supports assessment activities such as proctoring exams and review sessions, ensuring defined protocols and designated student accommodations are effectively implemented.
  • Supports ad hoc projects related to institutional initiatives and Medical Education curriculum, such as scheduling and assisting with Geisel's student-facing events, distributing materials, etc.

Description
Simulation Activities Coordination
  • Coordinates On Doctoring simulation activities, including creation of student, group, standardized patient, and room assignments with guidance from Simulation manager.
  • Attends On Doctoring related simulation events, including outside normal business hours, to support implementation of activities as needed.

Description
Clinical Preceptor Activities Coordination
  • Coordinates Phase 1 student clinical preceptor assignment process, maintaining database of assigned clinical preceptor pool and implementing preceptor communications when indicated.
  • Facilitates completion of required documentation, ensuring students have necessary preceptor site requirements and documentation completed (e.g. BLS certification) and ensuring AAMC Uniform Site Agreements are established for preceptor sites.
  • Collects and provides data to Director for hiring new faculty and making appropriate payments to preceptors (e.g. facilitator honoraria, new facilitators).
