Summary of Position
Keene State College invites applications for a Coordinator of Global Education to lead operations of the self-supporting Global Education Office (GEO).

The Coordinator provides direction for GEO; facilitates national and international exchanges and agreements with partner universities and programs; promotes and oversees study abroad participation; assists with the development of faculty led short-term trips; supports international students on campus with visas and cross-cultural orientation and adjustment; oversees visa and other immigration issues for incoming F-1 and J-1 students; serves as a Designated School Official (PDSO) for immigration advising; manages the GEO budget and finances as a self-funded office; and strengthens GEO links with the College's academic and administrative units to ensure the department's integration with the College's academic and developmental priorities.

Other minimum qualifications
Master's Degree; minimum of three years related experience; experience in developing and sustaining international programs in higher education; experience with SEVIS, and knowledge of DHS regulations and recent updates in immigration laws pertaining to international students and faculty; and experience working, living, and/or studying abroad. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and budget management skills. Federal regulations require that the director be a US citizen or legal permanent resident. Some international travel may be required.

Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility
Administrative Responsibilities:
Assuring adherence to SEVIS, including J-1 and F-1 immigration and SEVIS practice advisories and rules and regulations.
Serving as a Designated SEVIS officer at KSC.
Overseeing the issuance of travel insurance for study away students and faculty led global courses.
Providing general oversight for the GEO information systems management, including the database and software systems as well as student files and other important records.
Convene and coordinate the GEO Advisory Group.
Duty/Responsibility
Crisis Management:
As sensitive situations arise regarding KSC study away students and/or F-1 and J-1 exchange students at KSC, thisposition plays a key role in the KSC crisis management team response. Serves as a point of initial contact and is part of the KSC crisis management team. Responsibilities may include initial information gathering and being part of decision- making along with other key individuals and positions at KSC (depending on situation and severity). Coordinating with KSC Marketing and Communication when pertinent. Responsible for communication continuity for referring/escalating issues of concern.
Duty/Responsibility
Legal/Compliance Responsibilities:
Concerned with legal and potential liability issues related to study away, faculty led programs, and incoming J and F visastudents. Contacting USNH legal consul as needed.
Ensuring that KSC study away studentsa forms, documents and information comply with legal guidelines and requirements.
Collaborating with Title IX office on campus to deliver information about Title IX to incoming and outgoing exchange and study away students.
Collaborating with the Dean of Students around student applicantsa disciplinary status and code of conduct issues.
Duty/Responsibility
Programmatic Responsibilities:
Study Away Program Development.
Providing cross-cultural discussions and information upon request by faculty, staff and students.
Collaborate in the development and updating of policies regarding faculty-led global academic courses (with GEO Advisory Group).
Collaborate with Academic Affairs Leadership, Executive Director of SASS and Internship Coordinator on developing systems for domestic and international internships while deepening the relationship with UNH Education Abroad.
Guides faculty in developing short-term global courses in areas of academics and program logistics; Recruit KSC students for exchange and study away programs; organize and facilitate information sessions.
Responsible for overseeing and participating in the advising process including study away advisement, course selection, new student orientation, while carrying a student advising load.
Oversee the information and support provided to study away students regarding how to obtain visas for semester and summer study away programs, when needed.
Manage the study away course approval process and credit transfer policy about study away classes taken, in collaboration with study away partners, KSC academic departments, SASS, and the Registrar's office.
Writing grant applications and overseeing US State Department Funded exchange students (UGRAD) annually.
Duty/Responsibility
Fiscal Responsibilities:
Budget management and fiscal planning for a self-supporting program.
Overseeing billing process for study away students, interfacing with Student Financial Services
Producing budget planning sheets for study away students, interfacing with Student Financial Services
Overseeing and updating fiscal components of exchange agreements, partner exchange numbers and study away program costs and fees globally.
Ensuring appropriate documentation regarding financial understandings Awarding several scholarships for study away students
Overseeing the awarding of several endowed funds annually
Duty/Responsibility
Global Agreements and Exchange Management Responsibilities:
Primary campus point person for Memorandums of Understanding with partner universities and programs globally. This includes both initial agreement and updates, as well as decisions around the maintenance and/or termination of agreements.
Works with the GEO Advisory Committee, interested faculty and other KSC academic departments to develop, monitor, and assess current exchange programs and agreements.
Explore ways to leverage MOUs with global partners more broadly at KSC with faculty and staff.
