Nordson MEDICAL designs, engineers and manufactures complex devices and components with applications in wound healing, surgical and minimally invasive, fluid management, pulmonology and interventional and structural heart. Our pioneering Advanced Polymers team was the first to manufacture and supply medical balloons to the medical device industry. Nordson MEDICAL works with doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at any point in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assign work and oversees the work product while minimizing overtime and downtime
  • Coach, counsel, and manager performance of direct reports
  • Trains, assists, leads, and supports maintenance & custodial personnel
  • Ensures compliance with all company safety policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Assist with maintenance of the PM schedule for applicable equipment and machinery.
  • Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices - Assists with and/or coordinates custodial work as required
  • Oversees and helps facilitate preventive maintenance program to meet ISO requirements and ensure long term reliability of plant equipment
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
  • Collects and analyzes maintenance data for recommendations on prevention or continuous improvement
  • Communicates with production supervision to ensure successful and timely repairs and follow-up work
  • Scopes work, obtains, and evaluates quotations from contractors
  • Advises management on equipment replacement needs and general building issues
  • Ensures all documentation is accurate and kept up to date
  • Proposes ideas to reduce costs of operations and reduction of production machine lost downtime
  • Partners with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other support leadership as required for task or project completion
  • Participates as a member of the plant safety committee
  • Practices good housekeeping and leads organization and 5s events
  • Supports project teams and participate as an active project team members as required
  • Supports internal and external quality audits
  • Performs other duties as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in related field is preferred
  • 5 years' experience in maintenance and equipment troubleshooting
  • Controlled Environment experience preferred
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Number of reports: 2-30 hourly/non-exempt Employees

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to lead and train others
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize according to the needs of the business
  • Ability to support weekend or shutdown scheduled facilities events
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting maintenance of plant equipment, preferred
