Position Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to integrate the R&D department with the responsibility of design and development of electronics for sensor product lines in the vibration market.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the design process of new products. This will include requirements set by customer specifications, testing and evaluation of prototypes, pilot runs and documentation. The candidate will coordinate projects and tasks with the Director of R&D or the Product Engineering Manager to complete assignments on schedule. The candidate will provide support to Production in the manufacturing of existing products and the transfer of new designs from the R&D department into Production. The candidate will provide technical support to our Sales and Marketing department and customers.
  
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Background
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Masters a plus
  • A minimum of ten (10) years experience in electronics design with emphasis on product design and development
  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining a US Secret Security Clearance
 
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Product development related to vibration sensing or audio markets
  • Low power embedded analog electronics and mixed signals design in the audio range
  • Low noise system modeling and design  
  • Schematic capture, PCB layout and simulation for analog and mixed circuits (using Altium, Orcad, P-spice and/or Multisim, etc)
  • System performance modeling, including noise (using Matlab, Mathcad, etc)
  • Amplifier and system design for transducers using FETs is a plus
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
 
  1. Reports to:  Director of R&D
  2. Position which report to:  None
  3. Advises, consults and coordinates with:  R&D, Product Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Production, Quality Control, Purchasing and Material Control.
