Position Description

Submission for the position: Sr Planner - (Job Number: 123348)

Seagate is seeking a Senior Production Control Planner to support the operations group in our wafer fabrication facility. This position will be located in our R&D facility in Bloomington, MN and will report to the Manager of Wafer Production Control. Primary responsibilities include;

  • Work with the operations and materials teams to develop factory plans to meet downstream demand.
  • Communicate factory commitments to our downstream factories and monitor progress against those commitments.
  • Develop factory starts and release plans in support of production schedules.
  • Maintain and update planning parameters to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Consult / liaise with our engineering community, to insure product changes are implemented effectively, minimizing waste.
  • Provide guidance to department Associate Planner and Warehouse Clerks to ensure operations support activities are efficiently and accurately completed.
  • Drive improvement activities and projects focused on critical production control processes, using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.

This role will offer the challenge and opportunity of working cross-culturally with factories located in Northern Ireland, Malaysia and Thailand.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in operations or 6 years of related industry experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma Business Excellence programs (Lean Master or Black Belt preferred).
  • Knowledge of the wafer production process.
  • 2 years' experience with MES systems in a complex manufacturing environment.
